The interior of Lalitta Cafe Chiang Rai looks like a rainforest.

Chiang Rai is a city known for its rich culture, stunning temples, and natural beauty. But amidst all the sightseeing, there’s a hidden gem that every traveler needs to add to their itinerary: Lalitta Cafe

Lalitta Cafe Chiang Rai is a charming cafe that offers a perfect escape for anyone seeking tranquility, a unique dining experience and – let’s be honest – cute photos.

I saw this cafe trending on Instagram, so when I visited Chiang Rai, I knew I had to stop by. While it’s on the outskirts of the city, it is absolutely worth the trip.

The Atmosphere: Cozy Meets Chic

As soon as you step into Lalitta Cafe, you’ll feel the inviting atmosphere that blends modern decor with touches of nature. The interior features warm wooden accents, soft lighting and lush greenery, creating a cozy and relaxing ambiance.

Whether you’re sitting inside by the large windows or opting for a seat on the outdoor terrace overlooking the garden, the vibe is peaceful.

When you walk around, there is constant fog, creating a dew-y and realistic experience.

The cafe’s serene surroundings, set amidst a beautiful garden, offer a breath of fresh air from the hustle and bustle of city life. It’s the perfect spot to unwind with a cup of coffee or tea.

Menu Highlights: A Blend of Local and International Flavors

Lalitta Cafe’s menu is a delightful blend of both local Thai cuisine and international favorites, ensuring there’s something for every palate.

Their selection of freshly brewed coffee is a crowd-pleaser, with options ranging from rich espressos to creamy lattes, while their iced coffee varieties are perfect for Chiang Rai’s warm weather. Don’t forget to try Thai tea in Thailand!

If you’re hungry, their food offerings are just as impressive. Popular dishes include:

  • Khao Soi: A Northern Thai curry noodle dish that’s rich, creamy, and packed with flavor.
  • Avocado Toast: For those seeking a lighter, Western-style option, the avocado toast is served with perfectly ripe avocados and a sprinkle of fresh herbs.
  • Homemade Cakes: Lalitta Cafe is also known for its delectable homemade cakes and pastries. Don’t miss their Thai tea cake—a local twist on a dessert favorite.

Everything is prepared with fresh ingredients, and the cafe prides itself on its attention to detail when it comes to both presentation and taste.

The Perfect Instagram Spot

While the food and coffee are good, let’s admit it: Most people visit Lalitta Cafe Chiang Rai for photo opportunities. It’s an Instagram lover’s paradise!

The combination of the cafe’s chic decor, picturesque garden and beautifully plated dishes make it a dream location for photographers and social media enthusiasts.

My tripod came in handy to take selfies at Lalitta Cafe.

Photography Tips:

  • The outdoor seating area, with its lush greenery and vibrant blooms, makes for the ideal backdrop for photos.
  • If you’re a solo traveler, bring a tripod or selfie stick. It’s not weird: everyone did it.
  • Be prepared to feel a little damp due to the fog machines. Consider moisture wicking clothing.
  • There’s a pseudo waterfall located in the back of the cafe, which makes a perfect backdrop.

Why You Should Visit

Lalitta Cafe isn’t just another cafe in Chiang Rai—it’s an experience. The peaceful setting, combined with the warm hospitality and delicious offerings, makes it a must-visit for travelers looking to relax and recharge.

Whether you’re stopping by for a quick coffee or spending a leisurely afternoon enjoying the ambiance, Lalitta Cafe promises to leave a lasting impression.

How to Get There

Located just a short drive from the city center, Lalitta Cafe is easily accessible by car or motorbike. It’s the perfect pit stop on your way to or from Chiang Rai’s famous temples like the Blue Temple or White Temple.

I recommend travelers without a car to use Grab, an app similar to Uber. If you’re a solo traveler, you can hop on the back of a motorbike via Grab as well.

If you have a car, there is a small parking lot in front of Lalitta Cafe Chiang Rai.

The entrance fee is 60 Baht for adults and 40 Baht for children. This fee can be used towards your food and drink purchase.

You can find Lalitta Cafe online via the cafe’s website (in Thai) or via the cafe’s Instagram.

Final Thoughts

If you find yourself in Chiang Rai and are in need of a calm and cozy spot to take a break from sightseeing, Lalitta Cafe should be at the top of your list.

Don’t forget to wear your favorite outfit so you can make all your Instagram followers jealous!

With its serene atmosphere, delicious food, and picturesque setting, this cafe is a gem worth discovering. Don’t miss the chance to experience one of Chiang Rai’s most charming hidden cafes!
