White boats in the marina on a sunny day.

I believe in financial transparency, and that we as travelers should be more open about budgets. Recently, I traveled to Westport, WA, on a trip while I was visiting a friend in Seattle, WA. I wanted to share with you guys how much I spent in Westport, WA.

Even though I only spent one day in Westport, I wanted to share how much I spent to give you an estimate for how much you’d spend per day in the city. Also, in my opinion, Westport makes for an excellent day trip!

Cost of Traveling 1 Day in Westport, WA

I’m going to break down my cost into a few categories.

Travel: $0

Fortunately, my friend in Seattle drove us over to Westport! From Seattle, Westport is about 2.5-3 hours away.

Accommodation: $0

Westport was a day trip for me, so I didn’t spend any money on accommodation.

Entertainment: $0

Ok, I know this sounds weird, but I didn’t spend any money on attractions or entertainment. I’d say this is largely for two reasons.

The first is that I coincidentally traveled to Westport during its annual art festival. This meant I spent a lot of time strolling along the marina, enjoying live music and browsing through the art booths.

The second is that there are a lot of free things to do in Westport! A lot of the fun is just wandering the city and the beach.

Food/Drinks: $26.47

While in Westport, I grabbed a delicious fish and chips lunch, then stopped by Whale of a Cone for ice cream (my favorite!).

Colorful ice cream cone with a whale decoration.

Shopping: $41.62

I didn’t do a ton of shopping in Westport, but I did purchase a thimble (for my collection) and a sweatshirt (it was super windy there!).

Total: $68.09

So, that’s how much I spent in Westport, WA. That brings my total for one day to $68.90. This number is so low because this was a day trip, meaning no large travel costs or accommodation costs. That’s a win for me!
